Roles of Jahanbin Broadcasting Programs in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province in Strengthening Native and Local Identify

In this study, the authors examined the role of the radio and television programs of Jahanbin Broadcasting in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province in consolidating its people’s native and local identify. This survey study was carried out following a descriptive method, and the required data were collected using a researcher-made questionnaire. The 674,190 participants consisted of all the above 15-year-old people living in the nine counties of the province. Using the Cochran Formula, the ideal sample size was determined, and the participants were divided into specific samples based on the systematic cluster sampling method. SPSS 23 Software was used to analyze the related descriptive and inferential statistical data. The findings demonstrated that, with an increase in the use of the programs of this provincial network, the users’ familiarity and satisfaction with their folk culture and specifics features of their native-local identify increased. Moreover, it was found out that an increase in the satisfaction with the networks’ performance in this regard was followed
by an increase in the participants’ interest in their native-local identify. Therefore, the authors recommend the authorities of the Network to encourage the production of appropriately absorbing and captivating programs so that audiences develop a greater interest in their native-local culture.
