As a genre of folk literature, proverbs have always attracted the attention of researchers in the fields of sociology, psychology, and literature. Influenced by the culture and nature of their specific region, Bakhtiari people, use several proverbs in their everyday life, which is of great importance from the viewpoint of oral literature. In this paper, through examining about 10000 texts including the proverbs which are used in the oral culture and folk literature of Bakhtiari people, the author has provided a model called the “Typology of Bakhtiari Ethnic Proverbs”. In line with the purpose of the study, the researcher has employed the library method and field studies in order to collect and classify the proverbs. After analyzing and comparing them, he has presented a method regarding the typology of proverbs which can be used in the social studies of Bakhtiari region.
